St Kilda beach is only 4kms from the heart of Melbourne and a very popular kiteboarding location. It's an ideal starting point for many new kiters with several kiting schools operating in the warmer months. Travelling north or south from Stkilda you will find several other kiting locations.

Wind: Northwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending westerly in the middle of the day then turning north to northwesterly below 10 knots in the evening.
Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the afternoon.

Thursday 26 July

Wind: Northerly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots during the day.
Seas: Around 1 metre.
