St Kilda beach is only 4kms from the heart of Melbourne and a very popular kiteboarding location. It's an ideal starting point for many new kiters with several kiting schools operating in the warmer months. Travelling north or south from Stkilda you will find several other kiting locations.

Tuesday 11 September

Wind: Northerly 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 25 knots by dawn and further increasing to 20 to 30 knots during the morning. Winds turning westerly 25 to 30 knots during the evening. Squalls around 45 knots possible with and following the change.
Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres during the morning.

Wednesday 12 September

Wind: West to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending north to northwesterly during the evening.
Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre during the morning.

Thursday 13 September

Wind: North to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending west to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots during the day.
Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres in the south.
